Post speedometer

Can someone tell me how to fix my spedometer. Whenever its cold, it bottoms out and when it warms up, its fine. I posted in the electrical systems and one person sait my head was probably bad. How can this be fixed and at what cost if I do it myself, (if I can)

My truck is a 91 with 93,000 miles, (running grat no problems but this one) it has a 351 with pushbutton overdrive. If this is fixable, what is involved???

I just replace my VSS (vehical speed senser) My speedometer would intermitt. I had an apointment to have done under warrtaty. But for 16.29 I fixed it myself so I did not have to leave my truck. What yr is your truck and is it 4x4. soom speed sensers are like 8.00$ and are in the rear. Some are in the transfer case. The older ones have a cable
