Angry Now I'm confused

I had a problem with a squealing coming from the engine. I popped the serpentine belt and turned all the pulleys by hand. I thought I found the noise in the altenator. I just spent $150 on a 130 amp remanufactured alt. I installed the new alt. today and fired up the truck. And there was that damn squeal again. I'm really getting upset over the noise, because of all the shop time and money I have involved in this mess. Does any one know what else this could be?

Cool

HI!... Try a shorter belt. I had my truck 2 years ago into my dealer a bunch of times for a start-up squeel. It would last for a few minutes when the truck was cold. They changed my water pump, alternator, belt tensioner, idler pulleys. They could'nt figure it out. I figure the belt was slipping a bit when cold. I installed a DAYCO 1" shorter belt and have never heard the 'SQUEEL" again. Hopefully this helps you out.
