Post New Guy on the Block

Saw the website and had to ask if any of you all had a problem with the Firestone Tires?

I still have my Firestone Steeltex 4RS on my truck. The federal government is still investigating these tires so, I'm waiting to hear from them before I purchase new tires.

Of all the vehicles I have had in all these years, I have never had Firestone tires. All the Fords I ever bought came with Goodyears, Generals, or Michelins.

I keep missing out on all the fun!

I was driving my wife's 98 Explorer which had Firestone Wilderness A/T tires on it. I had a blow out at 70 MPH on the highway, but luckily it was on the rear and not to hard to control. We went to firestone and gave them the D.O.T. number on the tires and they advised that our tires were not part of the recall. After they found out my wife was seven months pregnant (at the time it blew) and they looked at the blown tire, they deceided to give us five new ones. The only thing that bothered me was how many people they told their tires were not affected by the recall. Because ours were not on the recall list either, and it separated into two pieces just like the ones they showed on T.V.
2001 SuperCrew, Lariet, 4x4, 5.4L, 3.55, with Goodyear Tires!

I have a 1998 Ext Cab with 16" Firestone Wilderness HT. They currently have 83,000 miles on them. Almost all highway miles with 4 lane and cruise on. Probably have about 5,000 to 10,000 miles left on them. I was hoping for a free set with recall, but didn't happen. Best set of tires I've ever owned.
