Question FIPK for 2001 5.4L?

Do any of the FIPK air intakes work on the 2001 5.4L engine? I was told that the K&N will not fit on the 2001 trucks.

I think the old one will still fit, but there is a replacement. Here is the answer directly from the K&N Tech in my email back in November:
"Use 57-2514-2. The 57-2514-1 will not be street legal for the 2000 and up, and
will not be covered under the 10yr million mile warranty."

Talking

I have the AirForceOne on my 2001 Screw. The installation is very easy and straightforward. Just take your time everything will fall into place. Forgive me for mentioning this, but go to the other F150 enthusiast web site and they have great installation instructions and pictures of the installation. Performance increase is slight, but noticeable. Most important, the sound is awesome on WOT! Very cool! I haven’t noticed on the gas mileage yet. I only installed it last weekend. The best improvement I have seen for the gas mileage so far was the tonneau cover. Good luck.

Sirjames and ragarm,

I like the Airforce one. The install is very easy. The hardest part it getting the temp sensor out, which isn't that hard. I personally like the looks of it over all the other f.i.p.k. s' available. I did notice a .75 mpg increase in mpg and with the Super chip installed first then the airforce one I did notice an improvment in performance.
I didn't notice any noise that would be considered annoying by any means. At w.o.t. it sounds like an engine should. Not starving for air. It is my personal opinion but I feel for the few extra $s the airforce one is worth it.
