Need information about "Engine Ping"
I have noticed some pinging noise on startup of my Ford f-150 (2000) in cold weather. It will also ping some when accelerating and sometimes going up hills. It doesn't do it all of the time but mostly during cold mornings. I have taken it to the dealer but of course the noise is unfounded, when there. I even left it over night a few times but still the noise would not occur. Once the engine is warm the noise goes away. Are their any recommendations on trying to rid my truck of this problem?
