Well...I guess if we wanted good gas mileage we would have bought Honda Accords!!!

The gas is the price you pay for driving a great truck!

Before the 35's it was 12-13mpg mostly city driving and 14-15.5 when mostly highway driving.

After the lift and the 35's 11-12mpg city and 13-14 highway.

I get around 250-325 miles per tank. It sort of depends on the driving style (city or highway) and the amount on towing. This figures out to be around 12-15.5 as my best. Finally the truth comes out as to what everyone else is getting for mpg!!

Why does the mileage suffer on the newer trucks? Even those with taller axle ratios don't seem to match the older trucks...

'95 Supercab 4x4
3.31s
Jacobs ignition
underdrive pulleys
custom air box mods
Gibson side swept

Averages over 15 in town, usually over 20 on the road. These averages don't show any possible increase from the cat back, that just went on a couple weeks ago.

I cleaned my MAF sensor and got a large envelope from Publisher's Clearinghouse.

SARGroup-- All I have to say is Holy SH*T!! How exactly did your mpg get so damn high?? Tell us exactly how you cleaned your MAF. What did you use, and every little detail necessary to do this. Maybe you need to come over to my place this weekend and do mine, I'm sure you could get a few others on the way!! I'm a little skeptical about touching the MAF on my pickup. I had a 96 cougar w/ 4.6 and the check engine light was always coming on, so I took it in, and $250 later, (and a sore butt) I was back in "bidness" so... Please let the rest of us know how you did this!!
