ZMAX, does this stuff REALLY work?

I just the infomercial about that ZMAX power system treatment. They say it reall y does work and they showed this car that like 300K miles on it and runs like brand new. I'll admit it does look different than the others like slick 50, prolong, motor up, and all the rest. Anybody had experience with this stuff? and does it really work or is it just another BS engine treatment. They also say that in there power system package it can protect your and clean your fuel and transmission. Any opnions?

No. ZMAX is getting sued by 'several' people. Not to mention your warranty will be voided if your engine fails and they do an oil analysis. ZMAX is corrosive.

I used it for a while, you might as well just flush your money down the toilet. The stuff is trash.

Thumbs down f-150_91-

Just change your oil regularly with quality oil and filter; save the ZMAX money for an upgrade that works.

Z-max is under investigation from the FTC and is being sued by several. In the piece that I read they stated it ws not much more than tinted mineral oil and did more harm than good. If I can find it when I get home I will repost.

The sad thing is look at the people endorsing it. Man, makes you loose faith in people.

Snake oil. This is the best way to describe it.

A lot of oil additives use chlorine as a major component to help reduce friction. Yes, chlorine. While it is good in precise amounts, especially for heavy shock loads (like gears), it can be extremely volatile in high heat applications. Combine the hot temps and combustion by-products with chlorine and you get hydrochloric acid. And then you get corrosion and sludge.

Motor oils are the best they have ever been and that's all you need to protect your vehicle.
