Post Two tone colors

Can someone tell me if the two tone colors of my F150 can come off. I have black and tan, I would like to go just black. Tan is on the lower part of my truck.

I can't help you with your question but, I believe the truck was painted all black first then the bottom was painted tan. So there would be black paint under the tan. It would be interesting to hear how to remove only one layer of paint.

Unless I am mistakin, There ain't no strippin one coat off of another -- You would have to probably have to overcoat the lower part, and since you would have no "transistion line " that is usually covered with a stripe -- you are probably looking at painting the whole panel-- Good luck!!!

Mark is correct. I ordered my 00 Lariat with black and silver and I immediately removed the pin striping. The lower paint color is there to stay, and as Mark pointed out, is sprayed over the base color. A good paint shop could probably remove the lower paint and then clear coat what's left, but it would be pricey.
