What Happened?
I just installed the K&N FIPK today and it seems like I lost some of my low end torque. Over 2000 RPM the truck just takes off and goes, but it seems slow getting out of the hole. I followed the directions and reset the computer. Did I open it up too much? I need some feedback from you guys with this FIPK, and especially people with the 4.6. I would like my low end back
. Thanks everyone.

Give it some time..your computer needs to relearn specific settings and adjust itself to the FIPK. Also, your tranny is computer controlled and it must relearn its "adaptive driving strategy."

Lok N Load,
I know this is WAY off the subject, but is your 10" sub under your rear seat? If so, did you have to lift it and where did you find the seat lift kit?
Thanx, and sorry again about getting off the subject.

Pat,
Take a look at this link:

It is a link in the subwoofer category where I talked about my sub, box, and system. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions as well.

I was wondering what happend to my reply, but I basically said that when you change to a free flowing intake system like the K&N, you temporarily create a lean fire condition. Although not damaging, you will notice a power decrease on low end until the ECM recalibrates itself to the increase in airflow. Drive for awhile, or start from scratch by disconnecting your battery for about 15 minutes, you will still have to drive it for a few days. It needs to go through a series of S,D,S,R.
