what is the best engine

Thumbs up what is the best engine

I want to get this 1986 mustang convetible gt and it needs a little work. It is red and has a 302 but it needs a little work done to it. I would mind replaceing th engine but i don't know wether to stick with a 302 or put a 390 with a blower out the top of the hood!!! Whats your opinon!!!

Check out the Mustang sites. I think they are getting some really good numbers with the 5.0. There are several blowers that will bolt up to the 302 with no problem. As far as sticking out of the hood.... well I wouldn't do that. Thats up to you.

There are all kinds of go fast parts for a 302 it may be easyer to build up a 302 than to try and shoe horn that 390 in there.

there's an unlimited amount of parts for a 302.
there's a limited amount of parts for a 390.

351, more power than a 302 and the aftermarket is just as big.

Ok Lane(RangerMan), we're good friends.. About the 351, yea baby, bolt on a S/C and it will scream gas! he found this car and thinks it would be a good fun car. needs a top..

302, 351 = simple...429/460 = possible....390??? = WHY???

He's crazy, he likes them for some odd reason.. I say 302 stay, I told him we can do Flows, H pipe, headers, S/C later on..And maybe some engine work..

390,428,427 and the 360 to i thinkor was it the 352???? or the 370 well close enuff a 390 is in the FE group

go with a 302 get a set of heads a good cam intake and ex and have fun

Find a 351C. It will burn all the rubber off that Mustang's tires without any mods.
