Post ATI Procharger

Thinking about selling my Powerdyne supercharger and getting the new Procharger kit for my truck. Does anyone here know if this kit is any good? I was going to get the Magnacharger but it is to expensive. ($3900.00) I would have bought it if it still was $3500.00. I can get the procharger for $2900.00 plus shipping.

I have been looking at the Procharger also. I have heard they offer the biggest gains (of course, who doesn't?), 55-60%. And you can change the pulley size without voiding the warranty. I think I will be getting one when my warranty expires (which shouldn't be long at the rate I'm going.)

Let us know what you find out.

Nick

The last I heard, they don't have a kit available for the F-150's yet. I'm supposedly on a mailing list to be contacted when they are available. I haven't seen a notice yet. They were supposed to be out over a year ago. Oh, well.

I just recieved some info from them a couple of weeks ago, and they make it for the 97-98 and 99-00 f-150 w/4.6 or 5.4. It's pretty interesting.

Hey Gorp, I definintely recommend the ATI. I have been running one (P600B) on my Mustang for over 50k miles. It is finally going in for new seals this winter, but it has been a VERY reliable kit. The truck kits are utilizing the new P1 head unit, it's self contained lubrication system keeps you from punching a hole in your oil pan for the return line (finally). That used to be the worst part of a centrifugal blower install, punching (literally) a hole in the side of a perfectly good oil pan! Mounting the intercooler and plumbing would be the next biggest hassle. I would expect to see 90-105 rear wheel HP gain with their kit. Now, like Crash said, the Magnacharger is cool because of the instant boost from the Eaton compressor. HP / dollar spent and PEAK HP numbers, the centrifugals are tough to beat. If you compare the area under the dyno graphs, positive displacement blowers are competitive for overall, or average, gains. I wish I got more power out of my Magnacharger kit, but it has been reliable so far and the "instant hit" feels awesome. I run mine in 90+ degree heat and -20 degree cold here in Montana. Here is a graph, bone stock other than the Magnacharger (stock HP / Trq. vs. Magnachager HP / Trq).

Feel free to contact me, I'm happy to help!

I got the Procharger info in the mail and this kit looks awsome. Going to order it after the new year. Anyone want a powerdyne kit? I think ask $1000 for it when after I get the Procharger.

I did call Magnacharger and had the credit card ready but when thay told me the price I told them no.

I would have to agree that a positive displacement blower is much better suited for a truck. it will provide the torque you'll need to get a heavy truck moving in a hurry. think of it this way, higher hp usally comes higher on the rpm scale, by the time a truck reaches those rpm(especially with an auto trans) alot of time has passed, your mph will be good but your et will suffer, with a positive displacement, it actually forces the motor to take the cfms, at a much lower rpm, the result is killer torque, and plenty of it!!it gets the truck up to speed much sooner, while a centrufical may produce more cfm, and support more hp, than PD blower, its boost is linear with rpm, a PD's is not, and will produce boost as low as 1800 rpm.most of the PD kits will support 400hp or so, so unless you plan on more a PD can't be beat.3 reasons why a PD is better suited, weight, automatic tranny, and these motors are torque bias to begin with. I would not buy on price alone.
