Bigger Magnacharger numbers!!! Yeah!!!
Here is more info on my Magnacharged 2000 F150 4x4 w/ 5.4. The truck has the Magnacharger kit (stock pulley), custom made FIPK, and a custom programmed Superchip. The FIPK was worth 1-2#'s of boost (depending on atmospheric conditions) and the latest program on my chip absolutlely ROCKS! The first custom chip (straight from Superchips) was out to lunch. A few dyno sessions and A/F monitoring at Total Performance, and I was a happy man. This latest run is about 25 rwhp stronger than the last!!
Enjoy, and feel free to ask me any questions.

ya think the programming is that much diffrent for the chip straight from superchips? or the supercharger has alot to do with the difffrence along with the tweaking total performance solutions did to it?
thanks!

Hey patrickjp! The first chip I had was just a standard program from Superchips, I didn't have the blower yet. It worked well, but most of the performance increase was from tranny calibrations. I then added the Magnacharger, along with a custom programmed Superchip for MY truck WITH the blower. It was pretty pathetic (the chip program), not much of a difference. With the help of Total Performance Solutions and their dyno / A/F equipment, we got much better results. I picked up about 25 rwhp from a better chip tune, and a FIPK. Some of the power obviously came from the increase in boost I saw with the FIPK. The new chip also shifted much better, added more timing (I'm at high altitude), increased the shift points to 5200 rpm, and tinkered with the torque converter calibration. Overall, I am very pleased, I only wish it ran this way the first time around. The added power of the M'charger requires that you should at least get a shift kit, or better yet, a custom chip.

White Trash-I just got back from the dyno today and my figures are lower because of the 4.6L but there is more to be had! I am having my exhaust system further modified and installing Hi-Flow CATs on Jan 21. I am very pleased with my Fuel/Air numbers. They are nice and safe!

Thanks for the comparison Flatsman......very cool. Hell, your 4.6 with all the mods was as strong (HP) as my 5.4 w/ just the M'charger. I'm glad that I "found" some more power, I wasn't that happy with a 50 rwhp gain out of a $3845 blower kit. I'm not sure why, but Chris W. said my 4x4 soaks up more power than a 2wd. I'm spinning some mass in the transfer case, but with the 4wd **** off, it shouldn't take too much power. Keep us posted, I know I will. My next move is an 80mm TB, Pacesetter headers, and a cat-back. Then it may be time to ditch the 19#'ers and FMU for some 30's and no FMU. I must say though, the M'charger FMU works VERY well compared to FMU's in other kits.

Hopefully I will have some 0-60 times along with the 1/4 soon. This truck in manys is like preparing a boat to go to sea. You work on it all the time and it never seems ready because there is always one more thing that needs to be done, as in "new high flow cats and reworked exhaust." Hopefully I will have something to post before long. Then there is the Auburn Pro for a better launch, then maybe some drag slicks then....

Hey Flatsman, I like your results. You just perfect one thing at a time, then move forward.
When & where will you be doing your 1/4 mile tests?
Do you ever go over to W.P.B.'s Moroso Motorsports Complex? They should be holding the Hot Rod Power Festival in February. Hopefully it is not the 15th, thats Daytona 500. Will be there the weekend.

I will probably make my first runs a Desoto south of here. I will probably go down for a test & tune day. I still have to install the Auburn Pro and do something about my traction problem. I can't find Drag radials or slicks to fit my truck with 17's. I am looking at a set of 345/55/17s that has about the same diameter as my stock wheels but they won't bite like the above. I show the truck so I want my rear wheels to match the fronts so I will be buying my same wheels in 10x17. At least it will look good going down the strip!
I'd run the 1/4, but you guys would laugh at my times. I'm at 4500 ft. elevation here in town, and the track is at 5000 ft. Every 1000 ft. you go up in elevation, you'll lose about 3% of your horsepower. Now you know why both of my vehicles are supercharged!!
Flats Man, what are you going to do for a high flow cats? I am going to find a stock Lightning cat-pipe, gut it, and then retrofit it to my 4wd (I think the transfer case is in the way?). I don't need to worry about sniffer tests here in Montana, and with a couple of MIL eliminators, the check engine light and OBDII system should be fine!

I was told by my exhaust guy that the F150 and Lightning cats are the same. The 5.4L has a better pipe after the exhaust manifold than the 4.6L, I am also told. So my plan is to have this shop custom fabricate a high flow exhaust using high flow cats between my headers and the Magnaflow muffler. I will post any positive results I gain.
