Clean MAF sensor

How do you clean the mass air flow sensor on 4.6. I'm having some pinging and some say this might help, but don't want to do anything to damage sensor.

Weadjust, Remove the MAF from your truck. Soak some cotton swabs in windex and very carefully wipe clean the filament.
