Angry head gasket (AGAIN)

Looking for help regarding the head gasket issue in the 5.4L. Mine is leaking for second time, First they replaced gasket at 17K and now its the same thing all over again. They want to replace the gasket again, I said no I want a new motor, had to call the hotline which was basically useless and the person said no way, they will call back next week. Now what?? Should I keep pushing for new motor, or let them replace the head gaskets again. If they wont replace it what should I do. Thanks for all the help in advance. ,

Get a different dealer to replace the gasket. Sounds like the first one botched it.

33K,
To make matters worse, the pass. door is cracking, rear window leaking and wipers have a mind of their own.

I got my truck back yesterday (24K miles) for the same problem. They also told me they replaced two coil packs because they weren't putting out enough spark (thus causing a bad idle?) they said. I runs well, but worried about the oil leak returning too. I agree with Dennis and try out a different dealer. Good luck

if yours is a 99 you wont get a new engine only an fqr, must be 00 or newer for that.
The biggest problem with doing the head gasket is when u set the head back down oil runs out of the rear oil gallery of the head and can get on the new gasket and cause leaks, the head and block has to be spotless and the oil gallery in the head cleaned out so that oil will not run onto the new gasket durring installation

My '97 popped a coil pack somewhere in the second year.

Doesn't it seem to you that a coil that does only 1/8th of the work should work longer than one that runs 8-times the energy? Until that '97 5.4, I hadn't even thought about a coil for over thirty years -- and nobody in my circle of friends ever reported a coil failure.

What the heck are they smoking in Dearborn !?!
