Question Squeaky engine noise

Ok, here is the situation. My truck sits all night. Start the truck up and begin driving. When I press on the gas pedal it makes a sqeaky noise like it's coming from under the truck. It only happens when I press on the pedal. And it doesn't do it when it's warmed up. Almost sounds like the noise when you take styrofoam out from a box, like a TV or VCR. It's driving me freaken crazy. The truck runs great and has no idle problems. Hell it's new as you can see from my signature. Of course I can't get it to do it for the dealer because it's warmed up when I get over there. Seems to only do it after sitting all night. Any ideas?

My 98 does it every morning it is below 15 degrees. It only does it for 10-15 seconds though. Never when I am driving. I think it may be related to the power steering pump. Mine doesn't leak and I really don't know of any fix for this problem. Some people have had a new belt put on and this fixed the problem. But their's was only at idle. Not while driving. Good Luck.

Cool

My guess would be the serpentine belt. What you can do is take it to the dealer, leave it overnight, then come back in the morning, get the service manager in your truck, and fire it up. If it does it then, he can't say "could not duplicate".

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice my friends. I will probably leave it at the dealer to sit and take the manager on a drive first thing after it sits all night. Seems to be at it's worst on damp mornings. Maybe the moisture in the air? I will keep you posted.
