Hp from bolt ons?
Hp from bolt ons?
I am new to this forum and f-150 lightning's in general so please dont flame me. How much hp can be gained through typical bolt ons? What would it take to run a 12.5 on stock tires and wheels? How much would it cost? IF you can think of anything i may have left out please let me know.
You can gain at least 50 horsepower from bolt-ons, depending on your definition of bolt-on. I think i good place to start would be headers and a good cold air intake. That should get you between 10 and 40 hp at the flywheel. Next i would go with larger fuel injectors and a chip. Of course the easiest and cheapest way would be a 100 shot of nitrous but that might not be safe on a stock engine.

The Lightning is already in a high state of tune. There are was to get more but i think the costs are higher than what you would pay to do up a regular F150. I don't know if you've been to the Lightning section but there are many there who have got more out of thier Lightnings. I don't have a Lightning but if I had to guess I would say maybe 3000, 4000 to get a 12.5. I've got about 4300 into my truck and I think I would be doing good with low 14's. Really good would be high 13's but I'm not going to hold my breath. I think the Lightnings are getting high 13's stock.
Good luck!
