I have a 98 F150 with 4.6 and when I am on the gas not every time but most of the time I can hear a rattle and it sounds liek it is coming from inside the dash. doesn't even do it when hit a bump or anything. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

no mine is an auto it sounds liek it is coming from between the gauges and the radio almost against the fire wall

 

Is your truck a 5 speed? I have the same problem with mine but I have traced it and found out it is the little cap on the shifter ****.
