4.6l Stalling
Heres my problem, In the mornings when I go out to start the truck it will stall right after it starts you start it again, and it stalls again, the truck will not idle at all, I have to keep my foot on the gas to get it to run. It will run like this for about 30 to 40 miles the finally clear up and start running right. This just started since the weather has cooled off. It does'nt do it every morning, just when it wants to I guess!! It's a 97 with 81,000 I haven't had any trouble with it so far, has anyone had this problem, and if so what sensor has gone out to cause this problem??
Thanks for the help!!

At the start of cold weather this year, my truck started doing the same thing. It turned out to be the IAC (idle air control). The IAC is a valve the allows air to bypass the throttle plate to allow the computer to control the trucks idle. Your symptoms are identical to what mine were. I cleaned the valve with carb spray and it has worked fine since.
You'll need to pull the black cover off the throttle body. The IAC is on top of the throttle body assembly. It is held on with two 8mm bolts. After it is off, spray the inside of the IAC out. Hold the IAC so that the spray will not run into the area where the motor is. I used a small screw driver to scrape the carbon off the shaft. My truck has been fine since I did this.
