Red face 4 wheelin question

Ok, had to try out the 4 wheel drive, and took out through my fields. Wanted to get her stuck a little, so I crossed a gulley sideways, and got the body kinda twisted. One wheel from each axel (opposite sides) were touching ground. Anyway, when I got it bound up, heard a few pops, and was just wondering if this is normal, or if I was breaking springs or something. I figured some of you mudders would know if body tweaking is really harmful. Any ideas from you old pros?

It just sounds like body flex. No worries this is normal.

Check the back of the cab, where the bed would hit it if the frame flexed too much. Maybe you dented it there like so many of us do.

Question

Were you hiting the gas or anything. You were just sitting there and heard the POPS?
Was a deep sound sound (SNAP) (Suspesion or HUB)or a lighter sound (creek) matal flexing.

Thanks for the responses. No scratches on the back of the cab, so must not have been that, although the bed was really twisted. I didnt know you could scratch the cab if you tweaked too much. The sound was a few loud pops (maybe just two), but definately not creaks. The rear drivers tire was almost touching the fender well moulding, and the front right tire was deep inside the wheel well. It seems to drive ok, but now I think I am paranoid, and the slightest sound makes me panic.

oh by the way, I wasn't hitting the gas, just rolling down into the gulley when it happened. With the limited slip rear axle, I figured I wouldn't even need to engage the 4wd, but it wouldn't pull out until I did. Really cool by the way (First time 4x4 owner, sorry about the cheese). Bring on he snow!

Probably was just your tire rubbing against a suspension part or fender.. If you have mud tires on you would hear the rubbing sound of POP POP POP as the tread rolled over, say the support arm. Other than that you just fine. Enjoy your Awsome new 4x4.
With a LS rear you will find you can go most place in 2X4 where ones without get stuck in 4x4 mode..
