Does anyone know???
WindDancer,
You most certainly DO have a Catback system installed, sort of answered that question yourself with the description of it. A Catback is nothing more than a complete replacement of the exhaust system after the catalytic converters, apparently you have a Flowmaster setup.
I would assume (others will correct me if I'm wrong) that you should have FOUR catalytic converters, two on each side. Thay is what the truck should come with. Mine does, although it's a 5.4L
If it ain't broke, don't fix it....if you're happy with the sound, look, and condition of your system, leave it alone....
-kindest regards

Does anyone know what kind of exhaust system I have? Bought the truck used, 45K, F-150 4.6
Lariat super cab. I know it has a flowmaster muffler with duals, however, the system seemed rather strange to me. It has two calalytic converters, from the exhaust manifolds, going to one flowmaster muffler, then branching out into duals. Do I have a cat back system? There were no markings on the muffler other than the name Flowmaster. The person I bought the truck from had this system put on after he bouhgt it new. What was the stock version, and why two catalytic
converters. Any ideas?? Please help, as I was considering taking this system out and putting in a Single Swept Gibson catback, however, if this is a good system I'll leave it alone. Sounds pretty good right now. I posted this on the Exhaust board, but did not have much help there. Hopefully someone will know what I maight have. Thanks
