Post AirForceOne

I presently have K&N FIPK. Am thinking about switching to AF1. Anyone do it & experience performance gains, mileage increase?

Cool

I actually took the K&N kit off for the AirForce One. Their filter fits closer to the fenderwell opening and the cone filter is open ended and receives factory ram air from the fenderwell. I haven't seen that in any other kits. The SportTruck article in June sold me.

I have tried K&N filtercharger kits on my last 2 trucks and have lost low end torque & general driveability on both but gained top end hp. I took one off the lariet & am going to replace the K&N drop in as soon as I can get to NAPA.

I have a hard time believing that by restricting the air the engine receives, the low-end torque would increase. I can see by increasing exhaust flow considerably, would effect low-end torque.

Does anybody have any pics of the AF1 kit? I curious to see what it looks like.

Wink

fordification,

My wife is plannig on buying me one for Christmas......she just doesn't know it yet! (After 23 years we do this kinda thing)

There are several enlightening threads on this message board discussing the Airforce One Intake. Follow this link to one that has a picture near the bottom:

Here is a great link on Installing one:
http://www.f150world.com/afo.asp

I just looked here at the F-150 Online Digital Marketplace and the price I see is $239.95. That is $20 dollars less than I saw at SUV Specialities.

It must be time for my wife to order it, of course I'll assist her should she need it. lol

Got to go.....I'm in the Holiday spirit now. :-)

4X4screw, thanks for the link. It looks like a fairly good quality product, but what's with the open element air filter? If your doing any sort of off-roading or dirt road driving, that filter is going to plug up very quickly, and it was mentioned in another post that it's going to suck in the warm engine air threw, creating a loss in hp's.

Today I'm going to order the Velocity Tube from WMS. They should have more in by mid December.

Cool

Somebody had a post a couple of weeks ago concerning a discussion they had with a K&N Tech or engineer and they are of the opinion that the difference between underhood air and external air in regards to horse power is minor unlesss you are pure racing applications. I know there are many varying opinions on this, but that is theirs.
