Question Blower motor

I'm hearing a low "Grrrrrring" sound coming from the dash area. I thought it might be my heater blower motor, but I still hear it even when the fan is off. Any ideas on what it could be
If it is the motor, where do I gain access to it.

What does this have to do with engines?

Why don't you worry about trying to help him and not being a *rick? Maybe he accidently posted it in the wrong forum.

Lightbulb That noise really blows!

Deacon, even though your fan switch is in the "off" position I believe it still continues to run so as to provide an exchange of fresh air to the cab. So I guess it is possible that it can be the source of noise.

If it's not too much trouble, maybe you can try disconnecting the wires to the fan or pulling the appropriate fuse to see if the noise stops afterwards? Sorry, but it's all I got. Hope it helps you some.

Good luck.

Turning the mode switch to off will shut the fan off. The fan speed switch will only go from low to high and will not shut the fan down.

Deacon,

under your dash on the passenger side, the blower motor is right there. It's about 4 or 5 screws to drop it down.

My ranger makes that noise occasionally, but i turn it on high for a while and then it goes away. I think I may have junk in my system (too bad my blower motor is in a tight spot in the engine bay)
