I need some help here fellas my 97F150 s/c 4.6l, 5 speed makes a clanging noise, not like a nock but like a vibration if something was loose when I run down the highway about 70 in 5th gear, but only when I hit the gas to accelerate, or when I hit high rpms in any gear. I asked my mechanic at the Ford house and he said that they have had problems with the roller rocker arms being loose, also know in conjunctiuon with the piston slap disease. I have no idea about this stuff but I do no that I love my truck. Can anyone give me advice on what the problem might be weither it is the transmission or the engine?
