Post Autophysics Intake

Has anyone installed one of these Autophysics QuickChange units on their truck? It seems like it would be a worthwhile mod.

never used it.Where do all or those sensors plug into this unit at?If you are looking for a cheap upgrade,do a search in this forum for "ultimate cold airbox mod cheap" or something like that.It consists of using a 3 inch pvc pipe W/ a 90 degree elblow to replace the stock unit between the airbox and the motor. You would be surprised about how resrictive that factory piece is. You also remove that piece of rubber tube that connects the airfilter box to the fenderwell and replace it with a 3 or 4 inch piece of pvc pipe that butts up against the hole in the fenderwell.Hope this helps

The duct, OK.

The filter? I just don't know about that... Why duct in fresh air AND underhood air? I just don't get it.

Crash1:
Your question is exactly why I posted this message...with this setup it would seem that any ram air effect from outside would be offset by the open filter sides. But, who knows? I'd like to know if anyone has used this setup and can report on its efficacy.

Question

Is it me or does it look like this thing is letting unfiltered air right into the intake?

No unfiltered air is not getting in. that filter is made by S&B. It has a funnel shaped piece of the filtering element under that crome piece. I hope I'm being clear. I had a filter just like that on my cougar, and it should not deter from performance gains. I will be putting a filter and tube like that on my truck when I get one of the APC intake pipes and the KKM intake kit. KKM sells that brand of filter and I should be able to rig something similar but better up.
