If the frame of the truck got bent in the accident, it's definately possible that the engine could've been damaged an leaked oil, therefore it locked up.

Exclamation

I had this happen to car of mine once. It
would constantly overheat,so one morning driving to work I was watching
the temp gauge,i looked up just in time to
see that I was going into a ditch,OUCH!!
Well,I got the whole thing fixed up and ready to run, including plugging a hole in the gas tank,AND,,,,,straightened the oil pan.......well I started it up and began driving. The oil light started flickering so I
shut it off immediately.. What it turned out
to be was the oil pickup tube got bumped
up just enough to starve the engine of oil.
This could be what happened to the your truck,possibly.... Was the oil pan dented and replaced? Is the oil level still
normal? So many questions,,,,,,98

Question 1997 ford motor

WE have a 1997 ford-f-150 4x4 truck. On sept.9 we wrecked the truck it lay on the drivers side at a 45 degree angle it was still running for about 10 minutes when the wrecker picked it up they dropped it about 20ft down Well the insurance fixed the truck the frame was bent on front and back end the truck has 140000 miles on it. we got it back it ran 7 days then the motor locked up on it.WE had took very good care of this truck the oil was changed everytime it was susposed to be this was hubbys (baby)the mechanic said the engine was starved for oil is why it locked up. Now the insurance is questioning this has anyone had this problem or know any thing about this sitution? please let me know e-mail me at hooksy@bellsouth.net thanks Tina
