Airaid and now low idle.
Just installed my Airaid last week. After the installation, I noticed that my idle was lower than normal. My normal idle was around 600-650 rpm. After the Airaid it went down to 400-500. Now I though that the computer just had to re-learn things but its been a week and the low idle continues. Mostly the idle is really low when the engine is cold and it comes up to around 550 when it is warm. But its so low that it will stut off sometimes in the morning when I throw it in reverse to back out of my parking spot. Anyone know what is going on?
BTW the gains from the Airaid where really impressive. I like it. Was a little disappointed that the tube was a mate black instead of stainless though, but still looks way better than stock.

rocketir,
Did you reset the computer after the install? This is the #1 performance modification rule and was one of the first things I learned from this site. After any engine or performance mod disconnect the battery and leave the headlights on for about 15 minutes. Reconnect the battery, turn the lights off and start her up. The gauges should all spike and it should take a second or two longer to turn over than it normally would. If the computer isn't reset it can take several weeks for it to "learn" how much air is coming in with the new FIPK. Try this and see what happens. If that doesn't work check the MAF and air temp sensors for any damage that may have occured during the install.

Yeah I reset the computer. Unhooked the terminal before starting the install. And did see the meters spike when I started up for the first time. Will look to see in there is any physical damage to the sensor. The idle is computer controled?, isn't it. I just cant turn up the idle a little?
