Question Ported MAF

Has anyone ported or done anything else to the stock MAF? I am under the impression that a stock ported MAF may run a little leaner... Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

TREADMARKS,

My recommendtion is to leave the MAF alone. It is an 80mm MAF so it flows quite a bit. Check out http://www.corral.net/ and look up the tech section and look for Powerplant and finally SOHC MAF Post Removal. I tried this and it scerewed up the MAF. I tried cutting the tower in it to inclease flow and it set the ses light off.
I was lucky as I was able to glue the tower back and it is only about 1/4 inch shorter and the truck runs with the ses light off. SO now I have a modified MAF tower and it flowes a bit more air. Proceede at your own risk!

FYI, The MAF in the 5.4 is the same diameter as the V10. I would say it flows at least 300HP worth of air.
