Red face Valve seals leaking!

I have a 97 F150 with a 4.6L. It has 83000Km, before the last oil change I had to add 2 litres of oil. This was the first time I ever had to add oil. I since noticed the at start I get a puff of bleu smoke, indicating valve seals leaking. Is this a common problem with the 4.6L, It's the first I hear of.

I too have a 97 w/ 4.6L but with only 44K miles. Not one single problem with the motor. It doesn't use hardly any oil between oil changes (3,000 miles). But I do have the door crack on the drivers side only. I hope it's not something I have to look foward to at 80+K miles. Do you have any engine mods? Do you drive it hard?

Red face

Yep. It started happening to me at around 27,000. I finally got Ford to replace it at 35,000 after they tracked my oil consumption for a few thousand miles. It was worth it.

No I don't have any mods. I don't drive it that hard and rarely pull anything with it. Also its not 80000miles but 80000Kilometers (canadian) I to have the crack in the door and I also have two dents in the cab where the box of the truck hits the cab? Any one else ever notice these? I think it's to nuch body flex when off roading.
