Question !984 Engine ratings

Anyone know what the H.P. and TQ. ratings are for a 1984 F150 1/2 ton with the 300 inline 6? There is all kinds of other "useful" information being offered on this site, so why is it so hard to get this question aswered? Maybe I should try writing it in all lower case or maybe I should misspell every other word. Oh, here's one, maybe if I asked "would it out run a 1984 Chevy 1/2 ton with 250 6 cylinder". That could possibly get a look or two. Come on people, help me out please. Thanks.

had one. h.p. i think hp was either 120 or 130. i want to say torque was in the 240 to 250 range. it would pull my 19ft ski boat 67 mph topped out. horrible gas milage. mine was an automatic, had a friend that had standard that ran a whole lot better.

i am not sure but i think the rear end ratio was something in the 2.4 to 2.5 range. if that is the case i bet a 3.08 to 3.27 rear end would wake that truck up alot. of all the trucks i have had i probably worked that one the hardest. it was a no frills model so i never hasitated to load it till the *** nearly drug the ground. pulled my boat, a 3500# car plus trailer, motorcycle trailer with 6 bikes and six friends. good luck

This engine's a mule. It was originally an industrial engine. I had two trucks with that engine. One got pretty good gas mileage the other sucked but it would run a little faster. You can't hardly overload that engine, it's made for working.

Thumbs up

Appreciate your inputs. No frills is a great description. Washout interior and manual everything, except brakes and steering. I will eventually get a picture posted of it. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Brotherdave, thanks for asking, but no. I posted on ford-trucks.com too and they couldn't help either. I may have to go snooping through someones Chilton book to find out definately. Thanks again. BTW, the site I mentioned above is layed out pretty well. I recommend it if you haven't checked it out before.

Thanks again!

This might not help much but my book shows the 1978 300 engine hp as 126@3400 and torque 234@1600.

Exclamation

A friend pulled a Large Airstream with a 1-ton granny-geared (4sp?) manual with that engine -- and loved it (had friends that loved VW's too, go figure).

I finally got to the library. Found an old Chilton manual that covered the '84s. It lists the H.P as 120 and the torque as 229. Thanks everyone for your help.
