Question Recharging K&N

How many miles should I go before cleaning and re-oiling my K&N filter?

Thanks

If yours is like mine, the red dye in the oil will be absorbed by the dust. When it loses its color (and is covered by dust and dirt), wash and re-oil.

I have been running mine for about 20,000 miles. To see the other extreme my neighbor with a 99 Ford Super Duty Diesal cleans his about every other month.

I went to a local Hot Rod shop and bought a second K & N filter so when I do clean the current one I will drop in the new one and box up the cleaned one. No down time waiting for it to dry.

Again with my neighbor and the Diesel; he does not wait for the filter to dry he just drops it in and drives away. I'm not sure that is recommended procedure.
