Question ?? for Neal

Neal,
with having the 4.10 gears, what mph do you shift into overdrive at wide open throttle? Basically i'm trying to figure out that if I go with the 4.10's will I be I be in overdrive or still in 3rd gear and the end of the quater mile.

thanks again

Cool

HI!... JUST RIGHT : I hit about 115-117MPH before shifting into O.D. That's about 5300-5400RPM in 3rd gear. With my stock 30 inch tall tires, I hit about 4400rpm in the 1/4 mile. With my 27 inch tall slicks, I kit about 5000RPM.

HI!... PYRO : In the city my gas milage is O.K but on the highway it's great! I have the 92 LITER gas tank in my truck, and if I fill her right up I can go 735KMS on one tank of gas. That's doing 70MPH at 2450RPM with the occasional 135mpg spirt here and there. I went from WINDSOR to TORONTO, drove around in TORONTO a while and drove back to WINDSOR and still had about a 1/16TH tank of gas left. I actually get better gas milage on the highway now than I did with my stock 3.55's.

Neal

Knowing that you have had the 4.10's in your truck for a while now, just curious to know how have they held up. If they have help up with no problems, then what brand of gears are you running? I was thinking of just sticking with Ford Motorsports but wanted to see what yours were. That and what kind of positive traction or limited slip do you have?

thanks for answering all these questions

HI!... EX-91 : I don't know what to tell you. I can't beleive it gets this good gas milage either. Ask IZZY EDDY, he went up to TORONTO with me in his truck. I went all the way there and back and still had a 1/16th of a tank of gas left. We drove around TORONTO for about 50KMS as well. The only thing that MIKE T and I can think of is that with all the mods that My truck is running at a very high volumetric efficiency. My boss's son has a "98" F-150 with a 4.6, auto, 3.55, EC. He also has the 113L tank and he can barely get 500KMS out of it, and he's bone stock!

HI!... JUST RIGHT : I have had NO problems with my 4.10 gears at all. I am running PRECISION GEARS, gears. My local FORD dealer installed them. I'n still using the factory posi from FORD's that came with my truck.
