Idling problems caused by Too Much Airflow?!
Hey All
I just thought I would throw out a quick thought. Here recently I had modified my air intake side of the supercharger with a straighter, wider duct. This is when the problems started, about the same time also I
had changed my muffler from the Dynomax UltraFlow to a Flowmaster 40 series. (but the latter I never thought it would be the cause of my problem) Anyways back to my problem, when idling, turning when going slow
10-15, idling in traffic it would want to stall out and sometimes did. Also throttle response was erratic. But the topend seemed to be there albeit with
the deadly detonation. So I switch back to the smaller,
flimsy, cheap duct that has two 90% turns (The same one Powerdyne has in it s kits) It nows runs just fine. My best guess is that my engine was getting more air than the stock MAF could read therefore not
compensating by adding additional fuel in other words running lean. I know I have the gutted MAF which could have aided in this but have never had a problem with it. Just thought I throw this out here, let me know if
I am even close
