Exclamation Need Headlight HELP!!!

I installed APC Super Whites over a year ago. LOVE THEM!!! They are so bright. 100 / 80.

However, tonight I notice my bright light indicator is partially lit, so I check my headlights, and what do ya know. One side is hardly working. I remove them and install the OEM headights, and get teh same thing. What in the heck is "broke", and what is a safe wattage light to run if I can't go all out with my beasts? Is their some type of upgrade or other? Thanks!!!

It is the ground connection at one of the headlights. 90% of the time, it's the bright headlight that has the bad ground connection, and it robs the ground from the good light, which causes it to dull. In any case, trace the wires to find the ground source, and disconnect it and clean the connections. It's bad on one of them. This one I'm 100% sure of.

Take care,

Exclamation Update!!!

Had to replace my harnesses, but everything seems fine now. I talked with the shop that I got the 100 / 80's from, and they said that they did away with them, and that Eurolite now offeres a "New Generation" bulb, in stock watage that's HID look-alike, and is brighter than the 100 / 80's. Picked a pair up, and what do ya know...even whiter, and lots brighter!!!

Question ?

The high wattage bulbs made my harness wires so hot after only 15 mins., they would burn you almost instantly, however, after 2 hours, these new bulbs leave the harness wires cold to the touch. What kind of damage should I expect to the wires further down the harness from a year of runnng these damned things?

I would be concerned. Your old harness suffered damage to one of the grounds, which means an even greater load was applied to the "good" wires. keep it in mind if any other electrical "gremlins" show up.

Take care,
