NEAL!!!! I need your help!

Howdy Neal,
I was wondering how you install a tranny temperature gauge...i'm getting the autometer steering column mount, carbon fiber gauge, and what not, but I'm bad with stuff like this, so if you can help AT ALL, that would be super. Thanks man.

Thumbs down

No doubt a suckfest waste of time. After a few of mine were lost, I started submitting before they were finished, then going back in to finish on an edit

I write mine up in word perfect, spell check included, and copy them into the reply box.

If I know that I'm going to have a really long post or reply, I will usually type it into Word and will do a Cut & Paste when finished. The spell checker helps out as well.

Cool

HI!... BIG BAD.... : I hope you bought a "MECHANICAL" style AUTOMETER guage. The electric style that I have had experience with are not very accurate. The mechanical guages you can still monitor while the vehicle is off. Electric guages you can't do this. Plus the mechanical guages are more accuate in my opinion. If you have a mechanical guage then I suggest to you to buy a AUTOMETER "TEMP MANIFOLD" PART# 2286 for 3/8 o.d tubing and PART# 2287 5/16 o.d tubing. You simple splice this manifold into your exsisting tranny lines and then scew the probe from your TEMP guage into it. I mounted mine right under my rad on the incoming tranny line from the tranny to the rad. Make sure to use TEFLON tape on all thread. Also the mechanical guages have "CAPILLARY" tubing, so whatever you do, DO NOT kink or bend this tubing at severe angles or your new guage will be garbage. Here's a pic of my set-up and one of the TEMP MANIFOLD kit from AUTOMETER:
