CONS of FIPK???

I am considering getting an AirForce1. Please tell me the cons to this and any other systems (engine effects, wear, warranty issues, etc.)

Thanks

Scooby -- Nice truck. Are those the stock tail lights? they look good.

I just installed the Airforce One and so far I love the look and I love the sound! Some call it a growl and that is a pretty good description of the sound it makes when you put the pedal to the metal. I just installed it Saturday. Still too early to evaluate its performance.

Negatives...The way I understand it the FIPK should give you more HP at WOT and higher rpms at the expense of lower rpm torque and HP. So in theory if you do a lot of heavy towing you might want to stick with your stock air box.

I agree, if you need to tow, you are better off with the factory unit. If you live in a in hot climate, you are better off with the factory unit period. I had my AF1 on in the summer time and I could not beleve how much better my truck ran when I put the stock unit back on, low end was the big difference. The AF1 sure looked good though. Money well spent elsewhere IMHO.

I don't have a FIPK on my '01 Scab but from what I've read here and at another F150 site, you do lose some low end torque in favor of the higher rpm, WOT HP.

Also, nice truck. You don't happen to have a sound clip of the Ravin exhaust do you?

Cool Thanks

Roundboy:

Nah, those are 2k1 L lights, heads, corners, tails.

NattyBumpo:

Sorry, no sound clip, but I love the sound. Before I bought it I went and took a ride in LightningCrew's screw to listen. Maybe someone near you has the system.
