The Haynes manuals I have looked at seem to be comprehensive.

 

I have an 88 F150 4X4. Need to replace a tappet. How do I get explicit directions?
Best source. Shop Manual? Internet source?
etc. Other parts taht should be relaced while repacing a tappet.

Your expert advice would be appreciated.
