I dont know if it would physically fit in there. You would have a lot of other problems to work out: electronics, gauages, drivetrain, suspension.

I think that the weight of the motor would just about limit you to not doing this swap. The torsion bars on the 4x4 would sink with that much engine. I know you can get higher load bars, but I dont think enough for a diesel to work.

I know it sure sounds like an interesting idea, but you would have too many problems. Just go buy a SD.

If you are crazy enough to do that then email me at waldo_white@msn.com and I will give you the mailing adress where you can send the engine you take out of the truck. I cuold always use a back up engine :-)

just more thinking here. What would be a better idea than the PS in the F150 is swapping the new 6speed manual from the diesel to the gas Triton engine. That would be nice! With PTO option and all there!!!

too heavy, also the turbo on the back would sit up too high to fit, you would also need all new drivetrain to handle the torque, plus a non zinc coated fuel tank, to much work, if you are looking for straight line acceleration don't bother, if u plan on towing heavy loads, buy a superduty.

Hey, Ford will be introducing a V-6 Navistar Diesel in the F-150 and Expy in 2002 I believe. Go to http://www.blueovalnews.com for more info.

Lightbulb

Or just wait a year of two for the "baby-stroker." Ford is supposed to be working on a V6 diesel for the light duties. Last I heard, it would show up in '02 or '03.

Cool

In a word "NO"!!! Just drive over to your local Ford dealer and have them park any F150 next to any diesel. Open up the hoods and just compair them. I'm still amazed when ever I look at my engine, that it's all under the hood of my F250 On the plus side, I've been hearing some really good things about the new baby diesel that Ford is coming out with.
