Question "BIGGER" Throttle Body or Spacer????

Has anyone had experience with a bigger throttle body over the stock one? I thought about installing the spacer, but my buddy at a local speed shop says the spacer is mainly hype. He think's I'd be very dissapointed! I didn't know if anyone has put either on a 99' 5.4. Thought it might work well with my custom air intake.

Cool

funkster,

I bolted on a 75mm BBK TB about 6 weeks ago. I noticed a difference above 3200 rpms. The intake air, passing over the butterfly, makes a cool wistle once in a while when you drop the hammer.

'00 Expedition XLT, Silver w/Dark graphite interior, 5.4L, Stull Billet Grill, clear corners and some other stuff. All in all she'll stay stock. Ok, maybe a Flowmaster 50 series soon.

Question

Loser1,

How much bigger is that over stock? Did you notice a decrease in mileage? I'm interested in more throttle response on the lower end. Also how much did it cost?

Does anyone with the 4.6L have a 70 or 75 mm BBK TB installed? Will the 75 BBK bolt directly on the 4.6L without modifying it? Believe it or not, the guy at Summit did not know. He said it fit the Mustang but did not know about the F150. I called BBK and have not recieved an answer yet, so any info about performance of this unit on the 4.6L would be greatly appreciated!

Question

Does it go to the 4.6 or the 5.4? If it's a 5.4 model I will take it!

I have a BBK 75MM installed, it is a bolt on. I have not seen any noticeable difference in performance but I tend not to drive much in the 3K range. Why did I spend the money on it? It is a long story but I ended up with one for a VERY good price!

Thanks Ksonger, that is what I needed to know. Notice any difference with the Granatelli MAF?

I installed the MAF at the same time that I went up in tire size. Even after the larger tires , the truck seemed to have a little more pep.
