The red carpet leases are great. they warn you to avoid modifying the truck much, and not put too many miles on it (avg 15k/year). I am driving my 2nd truck with this lease, and my dad just got a 2 door explorer sport on the lease. no problems with it thus far. anyone had bad experiences? btw... I am through Ford Motor Credit

I have leased several vehicles in the past. Most recently my 98 expy. My F-150 I purchased because I new I would modify it. Before my expy I had a 95 explorer through Red Carpet Lease. The only problem I had was near the end.... They would not tell me the payoff. They would only tell it to the originating dealer. This was a problem because I could not shop to get the best deal on the next vehicle. Any dealer that I went to had to call the originating dealer to get a payoff. They could tell them whatever they liked. After calling Red carpet a number of times they finally said that I could recieve the payoff if I filled out a bunch of forms (that they failed to send out). Since that time and on into the future I will NEVER use red carpet again. There are too many places out there willing to lend you money! By the way, The dealers make money on financing. Shop around and have your info ready when you get the price you want to pay. Don't tell the dealer up front how you intend to pay, work on the price first then talk about finance. Just my .02

with a family on the way,, try looking at the Supercrew... i imagine the residuals which the lease is based on would be higher than a ex cab. and the versatility of the S crew is worth it... great truck.

Thumbs up

I have leased my 2 previous trucks (94 Ranger, 98 F150 STX) thru Red Carpet Lease and have had no problems even when I terminated the lease 6 mos early. The new 2000 is leased with them also.

Watch the ads...and read the fine print and you should be able to find a great deal this time of year. I was able to walk out of the show room after making only the first months payment.

With a lease, you dont end up paying up the yazzooo at the courthouse (no sales tax)...you are charged a use tax included in your monthly lease payment.

2 leases so far(98f150, 2000 f154x4) no problems here.I even terminated the 98 lease 4 months early because the 2000 went on sale.As far as the residual goes it pretty much stays in line with what they would give you for a trade in.The blue book on my 98 was 2 grand higher than the residual when I traded. When I terminated the lease on my 98 and got my y2k all I had to come up with was the first payment and security deposit so it is relatively easy to get out of a vehicle if you don't like it. hope that helps
