From what I understand, just disconnect it and turn on the headlights to drain all stored energy for about ten minutes. Then reconnect it. Mine has a tendency to stall once in a while for the next day or so until the computer learns everything again.

Yep, that'll work!

What we do is disconnect the negative mattery lead, turn on hte headlights for 5 full minutes, then turn off the lights, & re-connect the battery. You turn the headlights on to drain all residual voltage from the IC's & capacitors, so the computer gets a fresh program load with a cleared memory.

If you don't turn on the lights, or some other large power drain on the system, you'll need to leave it disconnected much longer, so that's why we turn on the lights, to speed up the process.

Boys, I recall a simplier way to reset the computer, but don't remember the details. It involves turning the ignition to accessory or run while pushing on the brake pedal. JMC can you help?
