Question K&N FIPK gen II ?

Does the K&N fipk gen II come with the heat shield for the 5.4 Carparts.com says "it may not include a heat shield"? If so why is this and has anyone custom made one?

Thumbs down

tech-

I called K&N on this and he said that the 5.4L did not need the enclosure. I think that they are 100% wrong!! Anyway, I do not think anyone has custom made one, yet.

Good Luck!!

Unhappy

I just installed the K&N Gen II Kit for the 5.4L and it didn't come with a heat shield. I am using the original heatshield.

Cool

Rand-

Well, I'm not sure what my 1/4 time is. I didn't mod her to race. Its the family hauler, with a bit of "attitude"!! Wife hates it cuz I have done so much to her!

As for gas mileage, I'm actually getting better mpg, about 1.5m better! I'm going by the indicator panel though. I'm working on pics still so be patient!

Man you must EAT gas!!!! Holy crap!

BTW: I'm envious! Love to see pics of the truck and the engine!
