engine treatments
I had a Acura Legend with an annoying sticky lifter...I used Marvel Mystery Oil and that cured it. Some say Marvel is just snake oil but it worked for me. I have not used it on my F-150 but if I get a noisy lifter I'll give it a try.

The cam lobe. Basically the cam is above the valves and the lobe pushes the valve down. The valve spring keeps tension on the valve and in contact with the valve lobe.
That is basically an OHC engine with the cam above the valves.
On the 5.4 and 4.6, it is an OHC engine, but the cam is next to the valves. So you have rocker arms also. So the cam pushes up on the rocker arm, then the arms pushes down on the valve.

I used to think the additives worked. But our company vehicles are on the road from 100,000 to 150,000 miles with no additives. Oil changes are done at 5000 miles. The oil has been tested and is shown to be just fine at 5000 miles. Ford requires 5w/30 and that's all that's put in our engines. Now that I have a new expedtion, the oil changes are done at 4000 miles with 5w/30.
good luck
