Well, I ordered alllllllll the parts I need to put this mess back together.....plus some JBA ceramic coated headers. (So much for saving $$$). At least the dealership gave me 25% off the parts.

Looking at your pics makes me feel better about taking the intake manifold off and pulling the gas tank. Man you got into the guts of that thing. Are you a mechanic?
Glad to hear that you have all the stuff together for the fix. It's never cheap. You'll pay now, and be able to play later. Let us know how the headers go. I think they will be in my future.
The pics are good. I wouldn't mind seeing some as it gets put back together.

Nope!!

But my friends think I am....sometimes too often. No, I just learn as I go. I've never done anything like this before. I just enjoy the thrill of the hunt I guess. More so though when it's warm out and I'm doing it because I want to, not because I have to.

I'll try to take pics as it goes together...but I'm under an extreme time limit. I have to have it back together by next Sunday so I can go to Cali the weekend after!!! Connecticut to Cali....what a trip.

 

Well, as it stands, I'm flying to California tomorrow. I decided to get some work done to the bottom half of the motor while I'm gone. Bearings, hone, crank turned, pistons cleaned, soft plugs. But alas....why, I don't know, I think I'm gonna sell her when she's done. Not that I want to get rid of her because of this adventure, but I want out of the payment. I don't need the truck anyway. (sniff) I'm gonna miss her though.....it's been a good truck for the most part. Oh well. Maybe I'll be in the market for a Tonka someday.
