Sorry, it's going to be really slowwww, stock. I'm not sure on 0-60 times, but I would guess about 110 mph top speed and a long time to get there. The good thing is that you have limitless potential with the 5.0. The sky's the limit...or should I say your budget is the limit. You could have one heck of a sleeper if you built it to about 400hp and then you could still supercharge or add nitrous. I once knew a guy who had an old LTD wagon that he droppped a blown 460 into. Boy did he mess with people!!

Sleepers ROCK!!!

I doubt anyone ever tested them for speed, but it's possible. Either way, if you've got the bug to build a sleeper, DO IT!! They're great! I had a '77 Buick LeSabre with a 403 in it, and at the time, every time my live-in girlfriend and I would fight, I'd go down to the garage and work on the Buick. Well, we fought alot for two years, and the end result was a 403 that dynoed at 521 horsepower on nitrous. I had so much fun smoking high school kids in their flashy Z28's and 5.0's! i really miss that car. I may have to do that again.

Take care,
-Chris

right now what is the first mod i should do to get started as being a poor bastard i am. I would like to be able to run a dodge ram 318. The car isnt really all that slow right now. I know i cant run out and get a super charger and all that right now. The motors got like 140 000 is it safe to mod the hell outa it or should i drop something bigger and newer in later and just leave it stock until this motor goes ?

If you're going to start modding with those kind of miles on it, go with the stuff that is easy to transfer to a fresh engine. Intake, exhaust, pulleys, etc.

That way when you decide to drop a new engine in it will be easy to keep the existing upgrades.

No doubt, sleepers rules. Why does it not surprise me to see the pictures of PKRWUDS car?

Excellent advice.
