Cool

Welcome to the best message board on the net!!

As far as superchargers go, the supercrew doesn't need a different setup than the other F150's if I am not mistaken. You should be able to use the same kit as a 2000 5.4L engine.

You basically have 2 types to choose from, the roots type or the centrifical type. The Kenne Bell or Magnacharger (Eaton) for the roots type and Powerdyne/Vortech/Paxton/ProCharger for the centrical type. The roots type make their power at lower RPMs and are a better choice for extra towing power. These attach directly to the intake and are a little more difficult to install. The centrical type work petter at higher RPMs. They actuclly force the air through the throttle body.

Just do a lot or research and choose the right one for your needs.

Welcome!!!!

You will have a blast here, I can assure you!!!

EVERY time you mash the "LOUD PEDAL"!!!!

As everyone here knows, I feel (and I feel many have proven) a positive displacement pump is far superior on the street.

I have chosen to distribute superchargers. I have chosen to USE the Magnacharger.

I will bring some of the threads to the top to make the info available. There is no need to duplicate the threads.

If you need more information, try searching on "superchargers" or "Magnacharger!"...

I will get the latest pics soon!

ENJOY!!! And again, WELCOME!!!

todabone - welcome here, it's great. You may enjoy this sight more then a S/C.

Crash1 - I have to know about your supercharger. I want one so bad but everyone says the 5 speed can't hold the increased power, so how did you do it?

still to come: new spark plug wires, new rims and tires.

I don't do power brake burnouts, I try not to shock the drivetrain, and I try not to slip the clutch.

I was shifting HARD at the dragstrip (getting solid rubber in 2nd AND 3rd, but with the added power, the M5OD doesn't allow me to shift the way I used to. I now get good, crisp shifts, and have to throw alot sooner!

I just went to 275's, and I still had to rethink how to drive to keep the tires planted.

My drivetrain is stock. I think the tires will break loose before I break anything. Be ready to shift, though! First gear goes away with quickness. It is easy to bounce off the rev-limiter!

The unsprung weight of the wheels and tires plus the weight of a 4x4 will probably keep you hooked up, but if you use some common sense, you will be fine. I would avoid shocking the drivetrain.

I now have almost 2000 miles with the blower, and it is nothing but grins the entire time!

crash1 - So you feel that your drivetrain will hold up to the added power? How much boost is the S/C giving?

I really would like to add a S/C to mine just to give it a little more go. Because a Supercab 4x4 will all the goodies I did helped but not to much. This would be nice thing to start saving those paychecks for.

thanks

Yes, I do. I am interested in how long my clutch will last, though, and I am prepared to replace it when necessary. Time will tell.

BTW- I edited the above post. I think if you do not abuse the truck, you will be fine.

Many Ford dealers install the Magnacharger, finance it in the deal, and still honor the factory warranty.
