Post Takeoff Lag

My truck seems to lag at takeoff lately. I used to have enough power to just about spin the tires but now it seems gutless. Its alright after taheoff but from a stop it seems to lack some power. I put new plugs in last fall and plug wires in the spring so I doubt they are bad. I'm not sure what else it could be. Any ideas?

It's possible your injectors are getting clogged. Try a bottle of STP System cleaner in a tank of gas, even if that is not the cure, it will help your injectors and valves. I've been using these products in my 86 5.0 about every 5-6,000 miles and haven't had any injector problems whatsoever. I believe the $8 is well worth it.

I have the same prob. A ego change improved it, but it's not fixed. I'll post when I find the prob.

Just guessing. Maybe the fuel filter needs replacing?

Forgot about fuel filter, I just replaced it this past spring so I know its ok. It could be clogged injectors. I haven't put any cleaner in them for awhile.

I used 3 bottles of Chevron Techron in a full tank. The prob got better but it's still not fixed. Have been using Techron now & then since. I just installed a set of SVO plug wires & didn't leave the driveway so I don't know what that will do yet.
