Go ahead....SLAP me
Well, chalk me up as another piston slap owner. A lot of good all that crossing my fingers did...we'll have to see how my luck
goes at the dealer on trying to get a replacement. What's next....door cracks?

Keep perspective...'Waldo' is still an inanimate object that can be repaired.
You're at what, 10 or 11k now?

Yeah, unlike "Stanley the Power Drill"....11K IS better than 37K. It should be interesting to see how easy to deal with my dealer is. Considering I just had a defective Class 3 Hitch replaced this morning I hope they are just as willing to do an engine replacement, maybe even accidentally drop in a Navigator engine.

That is too bad to hear that you have a slapper as well. I got mine replaced after two oil leaks on the passenger side head, and cold engine knock, so I know what you are going thru. To get the engine, it will take probably 4 to 6 weeks, as that is what it took for mine to get to the dealership, if they do indeed replace it....just hope that your build date is early for the 99 Model year....that is what saved me....and now no problems with knocking/slapping anymore with the new Y2K engine. Good Luck.
Did you see about the get together in Forest Lake this Sunday the 23rd?

My build date is 5/13/99. I've seen two different dates on what was considered to be a "safe" date for piston slap. One was in April the other October...looks like October was the one. I can't make the Forest Lake get together (sad since my truck was born there - a Waldoch) as I am in wedding jail until August. All the college buds decided it was time to get married. I hate the idea of spending money on a tux instead of a RETRAX. Dammit anyhow.
