I was wanting to know what exactly the main sizes of them. I had been told the the stock TB & MAF is 66mm.

Can anyone please shed some knowledge and wisdom on this for us that are in need of speed?

Way2Big,
I knew I had to do something ,
1- the Maf is 80mm from Granatelli
2- the TB is 75mm from BBK,
3- the OEM TB is 70mm
4- the OEM maf is 75mm.

I had to come back with this answer in my post so I just place it here for your help.

Thumbs up

Thanks for your input Dragonboy!

Did your Granetelli MAF come with a filter similar to the Pro-M? Did you even consider the Pro-M at the time of you purchase? Or was it due to Pro-M being only a 77mm MAF?
I noticed that the prices are about the same, so I am assuming that it was not due to price.

OT - What size tires do you have with the 18" Lightning wheels? Did you have to do any mods to get them to fit properly due to the 4x4? I'm also wanting to eventually replace my stock rims with aftermarket ones.

Again Thanks!!

No did not consider ProM because I did not see too much of it here or probably missed it, due to the price that performance products had in their catalog was why I went with Granatelli, I had purchased the K&N FIPK before the maf, the Granatelli maf doesnt come with air filter, I am using the K&N which is conical.
Cant say if there's was a diffrence because I installed the K&N and maf together, but when by mistake the TB got to me, for sure theres a lot more diffrence, but there's a "but" looking in "other drivetrain" guys there are upgrading their gears to 4.10's due to tire size increase, and I am in that scenario, so I am now looking into the matter of when to upgrade the gear's, I now believe that having all the engine upgrades is at a still because the tires are holding down all the power, I hope I am not wrong but if they are upgrading their gears is not just because they want to spend money on something baseless, and mine is no exeption I dont want a tire burning machine like neal but to feel backed up by the V8 when the time comes to use the power.

On the wheels , the tires are 285/60/18 Pirreli Scorpion zero, no mod's at all, they fit perfect, I understand that for 99 and later they use 12mm lugs, the 2yk's are 14mm in 4x4, when I orderd the security log I orderd mine with the p/n selvaI gave in a tread and when they arrived they were too small 12mm so I called the dealer and he said that those were for 1999 ,the 2000 had another p/n and were and still are on back order, if it fit I will recommend you e-mail Roger Lemere from the online store here in F150online to check it out and sorry for the long answer.

dragonboy,

The studs on my 97 4x4 were:
M12 x 1.75 using a 19mm hex nut. I kept the locking nuts and used them on my 00 4x4 and they fit just fine. Did you measure the studs?

Dragonboy, did you say that you installed a wide throttle body? If so, I would love to hear the details and improvements if any. I have one and am debating installing it.

Cool

HI... The stock MAF is 80mm, not 75mm. I double checked the size be measuring it with a digital caliper a few months ago. The stock TB is 70mm, but the entrance to the TB is only 66mm. A wise thing to do is to port the entrance to make it a true 70mm like JMC and I did. It gave us both a small noticable gain.

JMC,
No, did not measure the studs, I had orderd the security set long before the truck arrived and when I installed the lightning wheel's was when I found out they were too small, I used a 11/16 socket to tighten the lugs so just used the ruler and indeed 19mm approx. as I said earlier the p/n I took from selvaI, his truck is a 4x2, just found out.
KSONGER,
The install is easy specially with the K&N fipk , just an advise when installing back the K&N to the tb mouth apply some soap due to larger size I had some trouble with the hose so I applied some soapy water not much and let it dry before starting the engine, and yes theres much noticeble increase in power, remember to disconect the battery and it took around 45 min. to install it may take a shorter time if you know mechanics.
Neal,
You are right about the size, you guys now more about mm than me anyway, the OEM maf is 80mm and the Granatelli is 88mm, Neal on the tb you are right on the size, I measured it and then was kind of surprised I knew from someone that it should have been 70mm and when I measured it it was at that or approx. remember I am no mechanic, so well I decided to round it to 70mm, it may be funny but it worked for me, that's why when I placed one beside the other there was a big diffrence.
