Post 5.4L Rough Engine Idle

I read some threads regarding rough engine idle from the 5.4 engine. Has anyone here ever received a straight answer from Ford about what is causing the problem?? I drove my truck about an hour to my friend's house to go fishing and after a half an hour, I went to start my truck and it stalled out three times. I finally got it to idle, but it would idle at about 200-300 rpms and then it would stall out again. It seems to me that it's the idle positioning sensor or the air flow meter. I will try to replace the sensor tommorrow and hopefully it will fix the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Bugman.

To AllIt May Concern:
I had some time this afternoon (7/4/2000) to try to figure out why the engine was running rough. So, I took the air assembly off and throughly cleaned the valve body with a brake cleaner(I did not have a fuel injector cleaner) and I also cleaned the sensor unit itself. After putting everything back together, the truck runs great except for the piston slap. Bugman.
