Question

*****,

When I spoke to Chris, he mention a shop to call also. He said that they didn't have any info with the MAF modification. But from what I can tell form the other topics I've read here and from Super Ford Magazine, it seems that things could only get better for us.

I think I'm going ahead with it. What the hell, we only live once.

Question

Way2Big,
Remember when Superchips calibrates your chip they will need to know about the intake mod, along with your other goodies.
When you gonna make the jump?

How are your brakes holding up? I'm finding that with all the extra hp and speed I find myself accumulating I could stand alittle brake upgrade.

Question

Does anyone have "real" flow numbers on these 77mm MAF's verses the stock MAF? Why would I want to go from an 80mm MAF to a 77mm one? I realize it is possible to get better flow numbers from smaller orifices. Just look at the NASCAR guys. Of course they have millions of dollars to invest in an extra cfm or two. I seriously doubt the folks that manufacture the Pro M77 have that type of budget. And let's say they do offer a flow improvement. Is the MAF the biggest restriction in the intake? If it's not, we would be urinating into the wind, so to speak. Wouldn't we? Just some food for thought. Plus, I like to poke a sleeping bear now and then!

Some additional info. The opening diameter of the fresh air intake on the stock air box is right at 50mm. I got an additional 10mm by cutting the snout off just outboard of the seal that seats in the inner fender sheet metal.

Question

Hey guys!

I sent a email to Pro-M to find out about how the "smaller" MAF would be so much more beneficial to us. I will post the reply if and when I get it from on them. I want to ordr one as soon as possible, but I want to get all the facts first before I do. I'm also going to try and fabricate a better intake system by encasing the Pro-M in its own airbox with 2 seperate fresh intake air plumbing. I'm planning on ordering the Superchip Wednesday but I need to decide on the MAF before then.

As for the brakes, That will be the next "major" mod I'll be doing on her, but its not going to be in the near future. Brembo's cost about as much as the blower did. Trying to stop my 3 ton beast is very unnerving at times. I need them!
